傳今年Windows Live Hotmail將啟動POP3連線

2008年9月，Windows Live Hotmail Plus服務(每年19.95美元)啟動了POP3連線(pop.live.com:995)，而今年，免費郵箱服務Hotmail很有可能開始向所有用戶提供POP3。

微軟幫助網站已經在不顯眼的地方透露了相關的免費服務計劃，原文如下：

Yes， cebcubs， there is a plan on releasing POP3 to free Hotmail account users. However， we still do not have a definite date on when this will happen. We'll keep everyone posted once the feature becomes available.

作為Hotmail的最大對手，Google的GMail以及Google Apps早已啟動了加密的POP3連線。
