微軟於2月12日後將瀏覽器強制升級到Internet Explorer 7

　　國際消息指出微軟在2月12日通Windows Server Update Services把所有Windows系統的瀏覽器強制升級到Internet Explorer 7，不會像以前那樣要經過用戶的許可。微軟給出的理由是「安全因素」。

微軟IE項目的一位主管說，「由於微軟有責任保護整個Windows生態系統，所以我們將儘可能最大範圍地升級Internet Explorer 7，Internet Explorer 7的升級也將不再需要Windows Genuine Advantage確認。」

使用Internet Explorer 6的企業要小心了，因為微軟會自動將IE 7下載並安裝到員工的電腦中。Net Applications的數據顯示，超過三分之一的人使用Internet Explorer 6。在2007年12月，Internet Explorer 6在瀏覽器中的佔有率為35%。
